Sofiya is a doctoral research fellow at the Indian Institute of Technology (ISM) Dhanbad, India. Her research focuses on digital game-enhanced language learning, vocabulary acquisition, and experiential learning.
Besides her five years of experience teaching English, she is a published author and has worked extensively as a content writer and editor, contributing to both government and non-government projects. She previously served as a council member for the STEM Education Council at the Womenβs Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Passionate about all things ludic, Sofiyaβs interests include games, playful pedagogical strategies, and task-based teaching. Alongside her teaching assistantship at the institute, she is currently a copyeditor for Language Learning & Technology journal and has served as a reviewer for the International Conference on Games and Narratives (ICGaNβ2025).
