Frederik is research and valorization manager in educational technology at KU Leuven and at the strategic research institute imec in Belgium. His main research interests in the field of computer-assisted language learning (CALL) include the intersection of tutorial CALL and task-based language learning, and the ways in which games and play can support language education. He is also passionate about research-based design and development of CALL applications. His current passion project in the field of ludic language pedagogy is FanTALES (https://www.fantales.eu), which leverages fanfiction and play for language learning.
